AOCA Education Committee
The Education Committee provides guidance and recommendations to the AOCA Board of Directors on providing members and the industry with cutting-edge, up-to-date training on operations, technical issues, business practices, and general management using classroom learning, publications, online and distance learning methods.
Specifically, the Education Committee will:
- Develop and maintain learning opportunities specific for fast lube owners.
- Develop and maintain learning opportunities specific for fast lube managers.
- Develop and maintain learning opportunities specific for fast lube technicians.
- Provide as many learning platforms as feasible to membership and industry including classroom, self-paced, instructor-led, online webinars, publications, convention seminars, tip sheets, fact sheets and others.
The following are the current activities the Education Committee:
- Owners seminar oversight
- Managers course oversight and update/revision process (2009)
- Technician course oversight - online and textbook versions
- Convention education sessions oversight
Proposed:
- Research existing courses and/or co-marketing opportunities
- Regularly scheduled live web seminars on topical issues
- Brief, online interactive courses on Presenting Services and other applicable topics.
- Online "teasers" of owner, manager and tech courses that provide learning opportunities but serve to market the courses.
- How to Guides
- Tech Tips (web and pdf-style)
- Management and Operations Guides (web and pdf-style)
