The Technical Advisory Committee provides guidance and recommendations to the AOCA Board of Directors in regards to technical information, issues, and trends of importance to the fast lube business and to AOCA members.
Specifically, the Technical Advisory Committee will:
Provide methods to help elevate the technical knowledge and expertise of the AOCA members with the goal of enhancing consumer confidence.
Develop resources that demonstrate or highlight proper techniques and trends in quick maintenance services of automobiles.
Identify and develop partnerships or opportunities with entities offering technical resources that would be beneficial to AOCA members.
Provide vetting process on technical issues and make recommendations when appropriate or highlight important information to assist members in providing better service.
The following are a number of potential activities for the Technical Advisory Committee:
Develop a "Problem Car/Situation" database (web-based)
Develop a Tech Trends information resource (web-based)
Identify content suitable for a Best Practices model (work with Best Practices Committee)
Identify Technical Issues that may require action of the Government Affairs committee or action from other Committees, such as the OEM Relations Committee or PR/Marketing Committee.
Advise Convention Committee on need for technical training updates during annual convention and expo
Advise Education Committee on need for technical training updates or creation.
