Having your motor oil changed at a fast lube facility is an excellent way to help keep the earth healthy. Your AOCA member fast lube center will dispose of your used motor oil, filters and other automotive fluids in a safe and environmentally friendly manner. Many automotive fluids are recycled.		Announcements Legislative Action Needed on Two Important Industry Issues The Automotive Oil Change Association is currently tackling two issues that need the attention of everyone in the industry. One is the development of a new proprietary oil specification from General Motors, called DEXOS. Tell Congress this is a bad idea for many reasons. The other is the Right to Repair Act, which AOCA members have been involved with for many years. The bill is picking up more congressional sponsors and Congress needs to hear from you! Right to Repair in Canada Heads to Committee Parliament has voted 248 in favor/17 against to send Bill C-273 to committee. This is an important milestone. A Parliamentary Committee will soon be receiving feedback on Bill C-273 from a number of groups. This process will result in the Committee submitting a report back to Parliament in the Fall. Congratulations Board Members and Officers The Automotive Oil Change Association (AOCA) is pleased to announce the Board of Directors and officers for 2009-2010. At its recent annual membership meeting, AOCA members elected three Board members. They are: Scotti Lee, from Oil Change Express in New Castle, Delaware; Rick Price, from Flagship FastLube in Wahiawa, Hawaii; and Pat Wirth from Potomac Falls Express Lube in Fairfax Station, Virginia. They join Kevin Davis of Fast Change Lube & Oil, Inc. in Lovely, Kentucky; L. Ward Huntley of South Lubes, Inc. in Orange Park, Florida; Rick Murphy of Magic Lube of Arkansas in Little Rock; and Chris Tolsdorf, Tolsdorf Oil Lube Express in West Chester, Pennsylvania, to comprise the AOCA Board. In addition, Board officers have been selected for 2009/2010. Congratulations to Chris Tolsdorf, President; Kevin Davis, Vice President; Rick Murphy, Secretary; and Rick Price, Treasurer. Jeff Pauly from Sound Billing in Middleton, Wisconsin joins Scott Jameson from Bosch of Broadview, Illinois, as the AOCA Associate Member Representatives. Got an Idea? Got an Hour? Over the past few weeks, including at the recent Fast Lube Expo in Atlanta, the existing and new AOCA committees have been off and running, discussing programs, benefits and priorities to help improve the organization, the industry and provide great value for members. We are still looking for volunteers from regular and associate members to populate our committees. The time commitment is minimal and the payback is great.
